Academic Life

THE WAY WE LIVE AND GROW INTELLECTUALLY

ACADEMIC LIFE IN GENERAL.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. The whole training in the seminary has as its goal “the training of tru shepherds, after the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The academic training, therefore, must as well seek to foster this pastoral goal. In line with the second Vatican Council, our AMECEA Bishops recommend that the academic training must help students to “develop, above all, the habit of reflecting personally, of reading intelligently, and of adequate – analyzing and judging life situation.
  2. To help students to acquaint themselves with the origin and development of the catholic doctrines and the efforts and struggles applied by seekers of wisdom in their search for truth. By critically examining the doctrines, the students accept what is true in various systems and reject what is false.
  3. Philosophy shall be taught in such a way that student becomes conversant with contemporary philosophical investigations and prepares him for a dialogue with thinkers of his own time according to the Competent Ecclesiastical Authority.
